Hot Zone Administrator Certification Test

1.  Hot Zone Competition Format will consist of:

  1. One round, then a cut to 12 for Semi-Finals, then a cut to 4 for Finals
  2. Two rounds, then a cut to 12 for Semi-Finals, then a cut to 4 for Finals
  3. Two rounds

 

2.  For the cuts to the Semi-Finals and Finals:

  1. There must be 12 teams in the Semi-Finals and 4 teams in the Finals
  2. There must be 12 handlers in the Semi-Finals and 4 handlers in the Finals (may have more than 12 or 4 teams)
  3. There must be 12 dogs in the Semi-Finals or 4 dogs in the Finals (may have more than 12 or 4 teams)

 

3.  The order of competition in Round One and Round Two will be:

  1. Determined by ranking from 1-x
  2. Determined by reverse order of ranking from x-1
  3. Determined by random draw

 

4.  The order of competition in the Semi-Finals and Finals will be:

A.  Determined by ranking from 1-x

B.  Determined by reverse order of ranking from x-1

C.  Determined by random draw

 

5.  In order for a team to qualify for IDDHA Hot Zone Ranking for the ESPN Great Outdoor Games:

A.  The handler must have a current membership and the dog must be registered prior to competing

B.  The handler may obtain a current membership and register the dog after competing

C.  Anyone can qualify for the Games

 

6.  A handler may enter:

A.  One dog in Open

B.  Two dogs in Open

C.  As many dogs as he or she chooses in Open

 

7.  A handler may qualify for the ESPN Great Outdoor Games with:

A.  One dog

B.  Two dogs

C.  As many dogs as he or she can

 

8.  If a handler competes in Open:

A.  He or she may compete in Novice with a Novice dog

B.  He or she may compete in Pro-Novice with a Novice dog

C.  He or she may only compete in Open

 

9.  If a handler competes in Novice:

A.  He or she may compete in Open with an Open dog

B.  He or she may compete in Pro-Novice with an Open dog

C.  He or she may only compete in Novice

 

10.  In order for a dog to qualify for the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, the dog must be:

A.  It doesn’t matter if the dog is a rescue and age can not be proven

B.  Eighteen months as of the qualifier

C.  Eighteen months old as of May 18, 2006

 

11.  When setting up the Hot Zone field:

A.  Multiple Throwing Boxes may be set up and handlers may vote on which one all competitors will use; the others will not be used

B.  Multiple Throwing Boxes may be set up and each handler may choose when it is their turn to throw which one he or she will use

C.  Only one Throwing Box may be set up

 

12.  In order to have an IDDHA Sanctioned Hot Zone event, you must have:

A.  A Sanctioned club hosting the event, 3 certified Judges and 1 certified Administrator

B.  A Sanctioned club hosting

C.  Three certified Judges and 1 certified Administrator

 

13.  A Judge may compete:

A.  In Pro-Novice or Novice division of the competition he/she is judging

B.  In Open division of the competition he/she is judging

C.  A Judge isn’t allowed to compete in the competition he/she is judging

 

14.  A judge may compete:

A.  In Open division of the competition he/she is judging

B.  In Open division of a competition he/she is not judging

C.  A Judge isn’t allowed to compete in the competition he/she is judging

 

15.  The IDDHA Representative can also fulfill the duty of:

A.  A certified Judge

B.  A certified Administrator

C.  One person may fulfill more than one requirement – both A and C
