Overview
The 2001 IDDHA Canine Disc World Championships will be held May
4, 5 and 6 at the Foxhall Farm in Douglasville, GA, in conjunction with the MBNA Foxhall
Cup equestrian event. This 3-day Canine Disc event will include the IDDHA Distance, Single
Disc and Freestyle Championships. Two divisions will be offered in each Championship
event: OPEN/PRO and NOVICE/AMATEUR. The Overall Championship titles will be determined by
placement in all three events - each event being weighted equally. Registration is
available for each event separately, however, only teams participating in all three events
will be considered for the Overall Championship.
There is an entry limit of 30 teams per division for the Overall Championship and
multiple dog entries are welcome. There will be NO entry limit on registration for
individual Championship events - only for the Overall. Advance registration is required
for all Championship events.
The
2001 IDDHA Canine Disc World Championship OPEN/PRO Division offers the largest purse in
the history of the sport $5,600.
A portion of the proceeds from the 2001 IDDHA Canine Disc World Championships will be
donated to the Atlanta
Humane Society in the name of the Novice/Amateur Overall Champion. In addition, an offer was made by an IDDHA member
to match the amount donated to the Humane Society, up to $500, in conjunction with this
event.
The
OPEN/PRO DIVISION is open to dogs not entered in the NOVICE/AMATEUR DIVISION at this
event. Pre-qualification is not required. Events viable for the Overall Championship
include Distance, Single Disc and Freestyle as set forth in the IDDHA Rules and
Regulations. Men and women will compete together in both the Single Disc event and the
Freestyle event. Only the Distance event will be divided into men's and women's classes.
NOVICE/AMATEUR
The
NOVICE/AMATEUR DIVISION is open to dogs not entered in the OPEN/PRO DIVISION at this
event. Pre-qualification is not required. Events viable for the Overall Championship
include Distance, Single Disc and Freestyle as set forth in the IDDHA Rules and
Regulations. Men and women will compete together in both the Single Disc event and the
Freestyle event. Only the Distance event will be divided into men's and women's classes.
Novice handlers 14 years of age and under are eligible for the
Outstanding Junior Handler awards.

Melia Luxury will be supplying custom
earthenwear bowls with the 2001 World Championship
logo glazed into their finish commemorating the event.
Triple Crown Custom will provide a custom embroidered dog blanket for the Open/Pro Overall
Champion.
Fetching Tags will supply custom trophies for the Overall 1st through 8th place.
EEZI Crate will provide one large size crate for the longest Men's and Women's catches of
the day during the Distance Championship. In
addition a new prize will be added for the highest scoring small dog during the Freestyle
Championship. To qualify as "small" a dog must be either 20 pounds or less in
weight or no more than 16 inches in height measured at the withers.
