Amanda and Boomer

The youngest handler to put an IDDHA Basic Disc Dog title on a dog is Amanda Miller of Jacksonville, Florida. Amanda is nine years old and a member of the Greater Jacksonville Disc and Dog Club. She has been playing disc with Boomer, a male Border Collie, for about 1 1/2 years and enjoys the sport with her dad, Mark Miller who is also an IDDHA member.

Although Amanda is a junior handler, she managed to capture the basic disc dog title at the adult standards.

Amanda is working on her freestyle routine under the tutelage of freestyle expert Lawrence Frederick, Executive Director of the Greater Jacksonville Disc Dog Club. She has learned to perform the highly technical one-handed walkover made famous by two-time world champion Lou McCammon.

We look forward to seeing Amanda grow into one of the youngest freestyle competitors in the country.
