Championship Update 03.14.01 |
Championship Judging Staff
The Championship Organizing Committee is
pleased to announce that the
selection of judges for the 2001 IDDHA Canine Disc World Championships
has been finalized. Joining head judge Mike Piazza of Massachussetts
are Ed Jakubowski of Connecticut and Lynn Knowles of California. All
three judges are experienced competitors and long-time IDDHA members.
This panel will officiate at each of the three days of competition at
this year's World Championships.
Animal Planet's A Pet Story at the Championships
Theresa Jones and Trixie, the 2000 IDDHA
Freestyle Champions, will be
featured on an upcoming episode of Animal Planet's A Pet Story.
Starting with a visit to Theresa and Trixie's home in Georgia at the
beginning of April, A Pet Story film crew will follow the team to the
2001 IDDHA Championships in May. This exciting news on the heels of
the team's recent first place finish at the Purina Incredible Dog
Challenge in St. Petersburg, Florida has Theresa and Trixie eager to
compete at this year's World Championships.
Hotel Discounts for the Championships
The MBNA Foxhall Cup has arranged for
discounts at a number of hotels
in close proximity to the event. At the end of this email you will
find a list of participating hotels along with their services and rates.
Camping at the Championships
Foxhall Farm, the 1200 acre equestrian
facility which will serve as the
venue for this year's World Championships, has ample space for
overnight camping. The setting is fantastic located in the country
right on the Chattahoochee River and early May offers ideal camping
weather in Georgia. We understand that there are even some RV hookups
available. These spots will be reserved soon so we need to know if you
are planning to bring an RV to the Championships. The grounds should
be quite comfortable for light tent camping as well. There will be 24
hour security provided by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.
