Two Paws Up for the IDDHA's New Video By Pam Martin, A Founding Member of Heart of Texas Disc Dog Club |
Are you looking for a way to improve your Frisbee game? Want to know more about the sport of Canine Disc? The International Disc Dog Handlers Association's (IDDHA) first video release, "The Standards and Guidelines for Single Disc Events and Freestyle Competition" is an educational video highlighting different breeds and handlers. It is well-produced and fun to watch. Hopefully an entire series will follow.
From a training standpoint, many will benefit from the contents of this video. It explains the fundamentals of basic disc dog competition and gives a thorough explanation of each Skill Class used in freestyle judging. Using IDDHA's judging criteria as a framework for training will improve overall disc dog skills and bring better organization to any routine. And, if you don't have a routine, this video can definitely help you create one.
It's my opinion that you will enjoy it so much that you'll
want to watch it several times over, as I have done. The IDDHA video makes me
want to go to the field and practice. I can't wait for the sequel.
