Thank you to everyone who has registered for the Championships! Confirmation packages were mailed last Friday, and additional packages will be mailed by Saturday to those who have registered in the past week.
With $1600 in Open/Pro division entry fees, the purse for the 2001 IDDHA Canine Disc World Championships now amounts to $5600 - the largest purse in the history of the sport! Over 25 teams from 9 states will vie for the 2001 IDDHA World Championship purse. Good luck to all the competitors.
Cinco De Mayo Fest - Handlers' Banquet
The Handlers' Banquet (Party!) on Saturday, May 5, at the Championships will commence at approximately 7:00 pm in the main administration tent. The Cinco de Mayo theme will feature buffet-style soft taco's catered by Burrito Art restaurant of Atlanta. The menu includes veggie chili, grilled chicken, smoked pork, BBQ sauce, chips, etc. and beverages. Handlers and volunteers may eat for free, $10 for guests. Please let us know by this Friday, April 27, if you will be attending and/or bringing guests/spouses/family members. Email ruthie@iddha.com.
Mobile Vet at the Championships
Dr. Diane Olszowy of Elite Mobile Veterinary Services will be on-site each of the three days of the Championships. Her hospital is set up for all small animal services, including anesthesia, radiology and surgery. See www.elitemobilevet.com
Celebrity Announcer at the Championships
CNN anchor and dog enthusiast Toria Tolley will be joining the IDDHA on Saturday May 5th as a guest announcer for the Single Disc Championship.
Reflective Images at the Championships
Paula McCollum of Reflective Images Photography will be in attendance for the final heats of the IDDHA Freestyle Championship on Sunday. Competitors will have the opportunity to choose from action pictures taken during competiton in the IDDHA Freestyle Arena and commemorative pictures taken in the IDDHA Off Deck area. Best Small Dog Award in Freestyle Classes
The Championship Organizing Committee has added an award of achievement for the Freestyle Championship on Sunday, May 6. EEZI Crate, makers of portable, light-weight mesh dog crates will provide a crate for the highest scoring small dog during the Freestyle Championship. To qualify as "small" a dog must be either 20 pounds or less in weight or no more than 16 inches in height measured at the withers.
